When the model narrates the answer, thin authority collapses. Expertise now has to be legible in a paragraph, not implied by domain age.

Author bios, credentials, and provenance metadata become part of the retrieval surface — not just trust theater.

Legibility over implication

A recognized author, a citation to a primary source, a date of last review — these used to be trust theater aimed at users. In an answer-engine world, they are inputs to the retrieval decision.

Sites that treat provenance as first-class metadata get quoted more reliably than sites that hide their expertise behind branding.
